Marie Lakin for City Council
28 W. Main St., Ventura
The NEW Vita Art Center
Friday, June 22 • 6-8 p.m.
Come check out Ventura’s newest gallery featuring an exhibit by the incomparable John Nava and see owner Mary Perez’s arts classroom space, studios and ceramics center. Settle in with drinks, nibbles and a little politics.
We’ll even have performance art as well as performers from The Aerial Studio! I’m so pleased to see our arts businesses expand and grow!
A few months ago, I announced my plans to run for Ventura City Council in the new District 5. I have been so grateful for the support I have received. But in order to see our vision for a great Ventura come together, I need your help. I can’t do this without you.
If you’ve already contributed, we’d love to see you on June 22! If you haven’t yet made a donation, please consider a pledge with your RSVP: $30, $50, $100, $325. Checks will be accepted at the door or donate online.
I hope to see you there. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
I have devoted my life to public service on both the local and state level as a deputy district director for the State Senate, a field representative for the California Assembly, a City of Ventura commissioner, a public relations professional advocating for local businesses, and a community problem solver through many nonprofits. I have a firm grasp of the policies which affect our cities, and my work in three counties has broadened my reach and understanding of how other communities operate.
I would be proud to continue as a member of the Ventura City Council. We need new voices! I am caring, accessible and devoted to the residents of the city I have called home for more than three decades.
